Multicomfort house student contest



During 3 days, seek between 28th and 31st May, 58 student teams from 22 countries competed in the 10th International Stage of the MULTICOMFORT HOUSE STUDENTS CONTEST in Bucharest, Romania. Participants were coming from: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, and Ukraine.

Participating countries to final stage of MULTICOMFORT HOUSE STUDENTS CONTEST 2014. First time participating countries: Belgium, France and Kyrgyzstan.

The event, dedicated to architecture students, aims at better disseminating the ideas of energy efficiency as well as the different comfort dimension among these future opinion leaders. It is based on the MULTICOMFORT HOUSE STUDENTS CONTEST and it was originally held at international level in Bulgaria in 2005.
The competition is structured in 2 stages: national stages followed by an international one were the best projects from each country compete.
For 2014 edition, 1500 students from more than 100 universities registered for the participation to the national stages.

The participants to MULTICOMFORT HOUSE STUDENTS CONTEST 2014 Edition were requested to design a school dedicated to children between the ages of 6 to 10, that combined classical school elements with modern learning facilities taking in to account the existing realities for the new ECO Project developed by the Municipality of Gaziantep, Turkey.

In order to provide the participants with all necessary documents and information two websites were created:
containing information about the current task, pictures and plans as well as all the projects and task from the previous years
containing a complete data base with constructions details in CAD format, documentation and brochures needed for the development of the task.

The contest started with the opening of poster exhibition giving the participants as well as jury members a first chance to see all the proposed projects.
During the second day each participating team had the opportunity to present their design and ideas to the jury and other participants as well as to friends and colleagues watching them online as the event was webcast live.
The third day was reserved for a guide tour of Bucharest followed in the evening by the awarding ceremony.

choosing the winners proved to be a challenging task as all projects proposed creative approaches supported also by strong technical background.

The jury decided to award four supplementary Special Prizes for the quality of the projects to:
