“Teachers Day” visit to Dubai
Saint-Gobain Group team in collaboration with the Department of Architecture of Dubai Municipality is advancing the preparation for the 14th International Edition of MULTICOMFORT House Students Contest which will be held in Dubai from May 12th to 15th, 2018.
14 coordinating teachers from 12 countries accompanied by members of the 2018 International jury, Dubai Municipality and Dubai Properties Group representatives participated in the “Teachers Day” visit held from September 12th to 14th, 2017 in Dubai.
The participants were invited to visit the proposed site area located in the perimeter of Culturе village of Dubai. This is the area the participating students will suggest a modern vibrant community development for.
Local authorities embrace this Saint-Gobain initiative as creating sustainable architecture integrated into a transcultural community is a priority. Thus, at the “Teachers Day” proceedings experts from  Planning & Urban Design department of Dubai Municipality offered valuable project insights and shared important knowledge about the cultural heritage and the actual context of the site.
The next steps consist in the preparation of a case study -  “Site Experience - Teachers Day” which will be available to all contest participants incorporating the teacher’s vision and project guidance after visiting the Contest Site.
The winning teams of National Stages and the winning team of Online Entry Stage (available for students from countries which are not organizing local contests) will be invited to attend the International Stage. The best initiatives corresponding to Dubai Municipality and Saint-Gobain MULTICOMFORT Criteria and considering the climatic conditions and regional context of Dubai will be awarded.
